Is An RV Membership Campground A Good Choice For You?

As with many decisions that must be made in life there is no one size fits all answer for everyone when it comes to RV parks and campgrounds, and this is certainly true of the membership campground. Membership campgrounds have started to become very popular recently as the RVing lifestyle continues to be adopted by more and more people.

In essence, an RV membership campground is easiest understood as being kind of like an RV timeshare, but the biggest difference is that with a resort timeshare you can only stay at your home resort during a preset time each year, whereas with a membership campground you can stay whenever it is available throughout the year. However there is usually a time limit for how long you may stay at any one time, and how often you may stay during the year.

There are three major companies that are offering campground memberships and they are Coat To Coast Resorts, Thousand Trails, and NACO. Each has it's own collection of campgrounds to choose from and they have different requirements and costs as well. It's beyond the scope of this article to compare them, but gathering sales information from all three is a good way to start the comparison process on your own.

But the big question is whether or not a membership campground is a good choice for you? Well, they could be, but that is a decision that you must make after weighing both the advantages and disadvantages of membership campground ownership. The advantages are that if you like to travel a lot, you can lower your nightly campground costs significantly over the long term by having a membership, and you can often enjoy a high level of amenities, facilities and hookups when you do travel.

The downside is that ownership is not necessarily cheap up front. They can range up to $10,000 or so, although they are easily financed to fit more into your monthly budget. And they tend to work out best for committed long term RVers rather than just novices to the RV lifestyle.

Before signing anything though ask as many questions as you can about it. Read the contract carefully, don't just sign away on the spur of the moment because you feel pressured to do so. Think about exactly how you plan on using your RV each year and then break down the costs of the contract, the financing interest, the annual dues and other costs into a yearly and monthly cost to determine if it will indeed be a good financial decision for the way that you plan on using your motorhome or RV. Make sure too that the home campground is solvent and will be available for use as often as you will require.

If you take your time, without being hurried and look over all the issues involved it can help you determine whether an RV membership campground will work best for you or not.

Hotel Fine Linens

One would ask why put so much thought in purchasing a hotel sheet for your beds? One major reason and perhaps the most important are your guests. The business and leisure travelers have progressively become more discerning, they have increased their standards and more and more guests want their next hotel room to have the same comforts they have in their bed at home. In my opinion the new minimum standard for a 3 star property and above is the T180 bed sheet; by the way T180 means the sheet contains 180 threads per square inch. The hotel industry has taken notice and been quick to pick up on this trend and has acted accordingly. Now it's common to find in your 3, 4 and 5 star properties using 200 thread count cotton polyester combination, T250, and over T300 hotel bed sheets. In fact the hotel industry has recognized and made the bed one of the most important components and amenity of the guest room, something that makes total sense. Think about it, the bed and bed sheets are very intimate; the sheets are something the guest uses to cover their body, like clothes they need to fit, be soft and comfortable.

Another need obvious need the hotel industry has picked up on is the need to relax and get a good night's rest, whether you are a tourist or business traveler you want to relax and sleep well. Many of us have experienced all too often thin or hard bed sheets, very soft or too hard pillows and usually at the worst possible time, after we brushed our teeth, tucked ourselves into bed and are ready to call it a night. A soft comfortable sheet can be the difference between a good nights rest and a lousy night tossing and turning. Hotels that have added higher thread count bed sheets have bragging rights and can advertise this amenity with success. The business traveler will be quick to pick up on these amenities because if anyone needs a good nights rest after a long day it's the business traveler. We carry high thread count bed sheets both flat and fitted in white and beige colors for all bed sizes.

The other question I frequently get from many customers particularly with new properties is how many sheets to order, on this subject I always recommend a minimum of three turns for bed sheets and pillow cases. What do I mean by 3 turns? The first turn means the full set that goes on the bed; the second turn will be the one that is on the shelf waiting to be used to change the first turn and the third turn will be in the laundry room being washed. Having three turns should ensure you always have a set of clean sheets available. In my next article I will talk of the often overlooked but very important hotel mattress pad.
